Royal Mail produced commemorative stamps for the Festival of Britain, available across Britain. You could also but a special 'First Day Cover' of the stamps (A first day cover is a postage stamp on an envelope that is franked on the first day the stamp is issued).
You can see that the above image shows a first day cover of both of the festival stamps, franked with the date '3 May 1951' - one day before the festival officially opened.
